Croydon
Concert Band
The Croydon Concert Band was originally founded in 1988 as a training
band for younger musicians who would eventually continue on to join the
Croydon Brass Band or Croydon Wind Symphony. It has had several names over
the years including the Croydon Concert Band, Croydon Variety Band and
Croydon Junior Band, but it has now reverted to the original title.
The band currently caters for young musicians between the ages of eight
and fifteen who are just beginning their instrumental tuition and learning
to play in an ensemble. These young musicians are assisted by more
experienced musicians from the Croydon Brass Band and Croydon Wind
Symphony as they learn their craft.
The band rehearses on Wednesday evenings during the school term between
6.30 pm and 7.45 pm at Keystone Hall in Croydon. For more information
about the band, please contact Phillip Lucas on 98795202.
